What is Ryanair's policy on the carriage of unaccompanied minors? |
|
Ryanair does not carry unaccompanied minors (under 16 years). Escort and special facilities are NOT available. Spanish/French residents children aged between 16-18years who are travelling without their parents/legal guardians on a valid EEA issued national identity card on flights between European Economic Area (EEA) countries must have a form (collected from their local police station) of written authorisation to travel from their parents. This form will need to be presented at the check-in desk and passport control. They will be unable to board the flight without this form. Portuguese routes: Portuguese nationals and alien residents under 18 years leaving or re-entering Portugal, to or from a non-Schengen member state unaccompanied by their father, mother or legal guardian need a travel authorisation. This must be signed by both parents or legal guardian with the signature notarised if the parents or legal guardian reside in Portugal; or authenticated by a Portuguese embassy or consulate in the country where the parents or legal guardian reside.. This travel authorisation is also required when minors are accompanied by a person other than their father, mother or legal guardian. In such cases the travel authorisation must also clearly show the name of the accompanying person. Foreign minors under 18 years and traveling alone may be refused entry if they do not have anyone in Portugal taking responsibility for their stay. All Latvian residents children under 18 years travelling without their parent or guardian must provide the following at check-in: - A valid passport and their birth certificate along with written permission from their parents or guardian which must be co-signed by a solicitor confirming that they consent to the child travelling without them. Croatian residents under 18 years travelling to or from Croatia without their parents or legal guardian must provide the following at check-in: - A valid passport or valid EEA government issued National Identity card along with a written permission, signed by the parent(s) or legal guardian. This written permission must be notarised by a Croatian embassy/consulate or local authorities. If not notarised at the embassy/consulate, an official legal translation into Croatian will be required. |
